Look, Ma—No House!

August 06, 2016

Well, we did it.

We sold our house, got rid of almost everything we own, and started our life on the road.

We're easing out of the old life and into the new somewhat gradually. We started by spending three nights in Burnidge Forest Preserve in Elgin, close enough to home our former home that we could have friends and our son over for supper the day we moved out of the house.

Now we're at Starved Rock State Park for a few nights on our church's annual campout, enjoying time with families from the congregation that has been so important to us for the last 29 years. (Are you looking for a good church in the western suburbs of Chicago? Check out Wheaton CRC.)

Normally I like to take a picture of the view from our window, especially if it's particularly beautiful. For me, this view with these people qualifies:

As is often the case, Winnie the Pooh says it best.

  1. Good for you! My husband and I want to do this so bad, and I can't wait until the day we do. We've had lots of loose ends to tie up, and we've also been hung up on whether to go with an rv or a fifth wheel/truck combo. They both have their pros and cons! We'll be out there soon enough!
